
Welcome to the WOHS Cisco Networking Academy
The Cisco® Networking Academy® Program at West Orange High School teaches valuable networking and Information Technology (IT) skills to students who are interested in pursuing higher education in the Engineering and Computer Science fields. The program is also suited for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the high-tech industry.
The Honors Cisco course provides students with skills that range from performing basic networking tasks to performing complex networking configuration and troubleshooting tasks. Upon completion of the course students will know how to install and configure Cisco switches and routers in local and wide-area networks.
The IT Essentials course provides a comprehensive overview of computer fundamentals and an introduction to advanced concepts. The course is intended for students who want to gain practical knowledge of how a computer works. Students who complete the IT Essentials course will be able to describe the internal components of a computer, assemble a computer system, install an operating system, and troubleshoot using system tools and diagnostic software. They will also be able to connect computers to the Internet and share resources in a networked environment.
